One of the many ways we exercised kindness this week was by sharing a special memory and giving compliments to one another. We each took a turn to sit in the middle of our kindness circle and listen to wonderful things about each other. This activity was a confident booster for the children, they were so happy to hear from their peers wonderful things about themselves. It really made them smile and connect with each other.
We also discussed ways to share kindness with our community outside of our school. Our community project is still in the works and this a perfect opportunity to expand on it and become active members of our community.
Donation Box: Help us bring joy to other children in our community.
The Pre-K children have come up with a wonderful idea of giving back to “children that don’t have a lot of toys to play with.” They have initiated a donation box in which they are slowly filling up with toys/books/clothes that need a new home (with your consent)! **Homefun: We ask that you please talk with your child and together pick out 1 (gently used) item to add to our to our donation box. We greatly appreciate your support.
We are also planning a wonderful friendship celebration in our classroom for Valentine’s day. We are celebrating friendship and spreading kindness. The Pre-K have extended their invitation to other children outside of our school. They want to include the whole school in our celebration. The children put together an invitation see below.
