Monday
On Monday, one of the Google classroom activities was to create fizzing moon rocks. Scientist Nora noticed that some of the moon rocks crumbled when they were taken out from the freezer. After exploring them with vinegar and lemon juice, she noticed that the vinegar made a stronger fizz.
During our Monday afternoon meeting, we create rocketships using bottles, or toilet paper/paper towel rolls. We also watched as the astronauts took a space walk outside of the International Space Station. We also had a surprise guest: Noelle! Thanks for joining us.
Tuesday
We talked about graduation during Tuesday’s morning meeting. We read Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come! and came up with ideas about how graduation will look.
During afternoon meeting, Nora and I made butter using heavy cream and salt. All you need is a jar/container, heavy cream, a pinch of salt, and arm muscles.

Wednesday
Wednesday is our weekly meeting with our 2’s/3’s friends. This week we made paper sculptures and read The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! and What Time is it Mr. Crocodile?.
During afternoon meeting we made chalk paint. Mix one part water to two parts cornstarch with a few drops of food coloring, and mix.
Thursday
We had Show & Tell during morning meeting. Noam shared her Ms. Potato Head. Liv shared her rainbow unicorn bag. Nora shared her bunny. Aidan shared his sunglasses that make him look like a pilot.
We also read The Day the Crayons Quit and The Day the Crayons Came Home.
Friday
During morning meeting we worked on letter recognition, letter-sound recognition, writing, and drawing. We also read The Duckling Gets a Cookie and Duck! Rabbit!. We also played the “Guess What’s in My Box?” game. The empty box wasn’t a trick, it was filled with love! The clues were “You can’t see it,” “You can feel it,” and “It’s how I feel about you.”

Home Happenings
What better way to beat the heat than with some ice painting?! That’s exactly what Nora did this week. Nora also left the city for a little and went to the farm!
George was inspired by our rocketship project on Monday, that he created the International Space Station, the planets, and more rocketships.
