Morning & Afternoon Meetings!
This week we reviewed colors with balloons and pom-poms, practiced numbers recognition, emotions, counting, and Spanish vocabulary. We also explored puppets, sang our favorite songs, enjoyed storytime, conducted science experiments, and practiced shapes. Muy bien, friends!
Literacy: Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses!
This week we introduced a new book, “Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses.” During the afternoon meeting, the 1A friends brought their own magic sunglasses :)
Science Experiment- Lava Lamp in a Glass!
The 1A students love science and were amazed to see the chemical reaction of water, oil, food coloring, and Alka-seltzer.
The Science behind the Experiment:
When you pour water into a bottle or cup with oil, the water will sink to the bottom, and the oil will float to the top.
The oil will float on the surface because water is heavier than oil. Water is denser than oil. The Alka-Seltzer tablet reacts with the water to make carbon dioxide gas.
These bubbles attach themselves to the colored water and cause them to float to the surface when the bubbles pop.
Here are some videos/pictures that were shared with us this week!
Thank you for sharing!

Here is a link where you can watch African animals live in their natural habitats.
https://explore.org/livecams/african-wildlife/african-animal-lookout-camera
This a great site for little ones who love animals. Here are a few questions you can ask your toddler while watching:
What animal do you see?
What is happening?
What are the animals doing?
Why do you think...?
Next, based on the responses, continue asking:
How?
Why?
What?
