Our first home fun! Family Traditions.

Kian: Every year my tradition is that the elf comes to NY. His name is Prince Buttercup. He goes on my shelve, on my lamp. The elf right now is on the wall. I also have a advent calendar. I get to open the boxes. I open 1 box every day. I also get to decorate my tree with ornaments.

Angelo: After Christmas I’m going to Brazil. My daddy is going to get New Years dinner for us. I’m excited because I get to wake up in the middle of the night for New Years. My family tradition is we all go to Brazil. My mom, my dad, my sister and aunt. It’s so much fun, we go on a big airplane.

Charlie: We decorate our tree. We hang dogs, letters, lights, and I drew a blueberry on top. My daddy and mommy helped. My brother Johnny and my sister Belle helped too. It was beautiful. I also got presents. I’m going to get new shoes! When I went out with my sister I saw presents there, under the tree. I love it and I was so happy.

Milo: So, I’m going to tell everyone who these people are in this project. okay! So this is uncle Zack, this is aunt Emily, and this is Milo. This is Amanda, you know my nanny. This is a cookie for ie cream. Emily decorates my tree. That’s my tradition.

Hyebeen: This is my mommy and my daddy, and this is me as a baby. I eat a hamburger and a sandwich, and lemon juice. This is when to Guam and back to Korea. This is also me when I went to Disney Land Tokyo. This is Disney castle. There’s nothing inside, it’s just a castle. This is a blue and gold castle. The princess do dress-up and go on a swing. I see a musical in the hotel. This is me when I go for the first time. It’s so shiny over there. My dad and my mom wear glasses.

Elizabeth: We love to decorate our tree, it’s my favorite thing to do. We have so many ornaments. We always do it together and we listen to Christmas music like Jingle bells. This is my elf and advent calendar. I also have my own Christmas tree. It’s a small one. It has tiny little fairies. MY big tree has an angel at the top.

Holiday workshop and art exploration

The Pre-K children have been working on creating snowflakes for the window display by the front entrance. (Be sure to take a look at our beautiful work) We are also working on some holiday presents for our families! We are so excited to share them with you all.

Specialist

This week during Spanish the children reviewed the weather. They went over the vocabulary (shoes: zapatos, Boots: Botas, Jacket: La chaqueta, etc.). Ernestina explained the lyrics as they acted them out without music. They then followed along to the words in the song as they practiced the new vocabulary with movements.

Cooking with Diane was a fun time. We made a delicious coconut cream and enjoyed it with bananas!

Soccer with Jojo is all about physical activities. We are currently playing in teams and practicing working together, sharing, and supporting one another.

Writing and Illustrating a special holiday story

A collaborative Holiday story by the Pre-K

Possible titles: Ballerina Christmas Story, Jingle Bells, Here Comes Presents, Santa Ho, Ho, Ho.

Kian: Once upon a time there was a boy and a girl, and they made a snowman. Alexander: When they left it outside the snowman started to move! There was a pigeon under it. Hyebeen: The snowman started to dress up in dresses and suits. Charlie: And then it got color. The pigeon painted the snowman and it turned into a rainbow snowman. Milo: Then the snowman started to disappear! The pigeon started to push it. The snowman started to get farther, and farther, and farther! Angelo: Then when the snowman was getting farther away the snowman was about to fall over! Elizabeth: Meanwhile, the boy and the girl were decorating their tree. They put ornaments. Then they put the last ornaments and it was a twinkle fairy. Graydon: Then the kids go to sleep and the ornaments broke! The kids went to see and they started to cry. Rex: The snowman was about to fall into a frozen puddle that covered the Earth! But before he fell a big explosion happened. Sam: After the snowman falls into the puddle he melts into another Planet. William: The pigeon went away to the other plant. It was (actually) the sun. The sun made them hot so they got out quick. They bumped into a little thing. It opened and they got through it. Josie: It took them through the roof and into the house where the boy and the girl lived. The boy and the girl painted the pigeon and then the pigeon turned into a real ballerina! The end.
