Science Project #1: Rainbows and Weather
This week in the Pre-K, the children were asked about theories they would like to put to test! Our annual Science Fair is quickly approaching and in preparation we are project planning! The children have so many great ideas and are very curious about the world around them. We first had a group discussion to share about all of the interesting things we are knowledgeable about and realized that there’s so much we can learn from each other. We then talked about the many things we are curious about and want to learn more about. One popular topic are rainbows! Here’s what they said:
In addition to our Science Fair, we have also revisited our community project and began planning and discussing all about our favorite places to visit in our neighborhoods. This project will encourage children to get familiar and connect with their community.
Which is your favorite place to visit in your neighborhood:
William: I love a red park that is really close to my house because I love swings.
Katerina: I love a restaurant that is a little far from my home, I love it because my favorite food is pasta and they have pasta.
Ellis: I have two favorite places. A restaurant called Blue Smoke because I get healthy food and after I get dessert. And The Odeon I love because for breakfast and brunch I eat granola with berries and bananas and yogurt, and if it’s lunch or dinner I get pasta with salt and parmesan.
Mercer: I love Whole Foods because I get to pick carrots and chicken.
Geneva: My favorite is Tribeca’s Kitchen because their food is really good
Malina: The candy shop, to buy candies.
