Blocks
Aidan and George were very busy in the block area earlier this week. Aidan worked on creating a replica of the Jeddah tower with 2 parking levels: one on the bottom and one at the to of tower. George made a boat with a floor for walking. As they worked, Aidan told George his structure was cool. George told Aidan that his structure was cool too.
Science
This week we explored color mixing in the sensory table. Soapy water was placed in table with 4 pump bottles filled with different colors. We mixed yellow (sun power according to the children) and blue (ocean power one day, blue and red another day, and red and yellow another day.
We made oobleck on Friday: a mixture of corn starch and water, and we added red and pink glitter. As the children played, they came up with a lot of descriptive words regarding their play.
tickles, hard, melting, cold, closing, moving, dripping, open, rain on your umbrella, sinking, magic, pretend, watery, sound, falling
Art
We worked on a variety of art projects this week. We painted with shades of yellow and purple, created watercolor and aluminum foil art inspired by the book Rainbow Fish., painted with corks, and explored and created on canvas using modeling clay. We also did some observational painting of some flowers; first discussing what details we noticed before putting brush to paper. On Friday, Aidan and Liv noticed Nora was out and decided to make some drawings for her to see when she comes back.
