Karate with sensei BiBi.
Karate has been a really fun time for the Pre-K. Here we practice patience, self-confidence, leadership, and self-discipline. Our sensei Bibi makes this class super fun for the children and they love the many physical activities she plans fo them.
Celebrating Thanksgiving with a Taco Party!
Our fiendsgiving was a such a special day for the kids. We reflected on the things we are thankful for and shared traditions and the food we like to eat. One special request was that we made tacos together as a class. This was a great opportunity for many of them as we are practicing the importance of trying unfamiliar foods. Everyone LOVED the tacos and even had seconds!
Here what they said:
Alex: I’m thankful for giving butterfly kisses to papa and daddy.
Kian: I’m thankful that my mommy gives me hugs.
Hyebeen: I’m thankful for my sparkly crystal necklace.
Charlie: I’m thankful for Milo.
Milo: I’m thankful for everyone in the world.
Angelo: I’m thankful for my mommy, daddy, and my whole family. They give me hugs.
Elizabeth: I’m thankful for butterflies.
Graydon: I’m thankful for my teachers.
Rex: I’m thankful for my cousins Gia, Corey, and Rocco.
Sam: I’m thankful for my mommy, daddy, and sister.
Josie: I’m thankful for giving hugs to my teachers.
Will: I’m thankful for dragons.
Annabel: I’m thankful for tacos!
María: I’m thankful for puppies.
Chocolate Milk: I’m thankful for carrots.
Curriculum Breakfast
Our Me, Myself, and I curriculum celebration was a huge success! The children worked for weeks exploring the concept of the SELF. They sparked their own projects, worked together to design a special display, and were the best tour guides for our beautiful museum.
This project is intended to be ongoing throughout the year as the children will create several portraits using a variety of media at different points. This is to encourage recognitions and reflection of changes in personal appearance.
It’s beautiful to observe children using mirrors and in sharing observations with each other. Talking about the parts of the face, the features, shapes, size etc. It is a great language exploration during this time.
We are so proud of the Pre-K class! Take some time to see the documentation around the classroom and museum. We will have all of our museum documentation up next week.
Thanks for coming!
