HALLOWEEN PARADE

It was another successful year parading around the neighborhood! The children worked hard on their costumes and wore them loud and proud yesterday. We are so happy that the weather cooperated and we were able to go about our usual route visiting all of the local businesses. Days like yesterday make us extremely grateful for the community we have here in Tribeca. Thank you for all of your parent involvement from helping make the costumes to parading around. We couldn’t have done it without you.

CLASSROOM HIGHLIGHT: PRE-K

A community is an all-inclusive group of people who live, work, and play near each other. Preschoolers receive a sense of community and experience through lessons and units, which include recycling efforts and connecting with our local businesses and centers. Experiencing that one is a part of a larger neighborhood or community is essential to establishing a person's responsibility for stewardship within their community. Even in preschool, students are never too young for exposure to these interesting concepts.

Pre-K is all about inclusivity and taking care of each other. We all come from different places and backgrounds, but we are all the same. As we walk around the neighborhood we discover what and who forms our community.  We are also learning how to take care of it. Pre-K has shown interest in gardens and compost. The children are also learning about the importance of charity work. Pre-K has recently participated in a charity project with Grace Children’s Foundation. This charity helps children in need of medical, surgical and rehabilitative care. The children really connected with this charity and are eager to help.

PARENT MIXER

Thank you to everyone who came out for our first Parent Mixer! It was a great way for our families to connect and meet new parents in other classrooms. We will have another one to follow in the new year and hope to see you all there. Please fill out this two quick survey here about parent events and what you’d like to see!

NURISH TIP OF THE WEEK

Message families in your class about arranging a playdate in the park when your little ones have off on 11/15 for parent teacher conferences. You can also add your caregivers on the app and have them communicate with each other!
